dc.description.abstract Living in the 21st century Honour based violence yet remains a heinous crime that has been rampant in the Northern Parts of India. With the changing needs of the society the laws have been inadequate to curb such crime. The assassination of a family or clan member by one or more family members who believe the victim has dishonoured the family honour by his or her acts is known as honour killing.
