Abstract:
Green careers” have gained significant attention due to increasing environmental concerns and the rising importance on sustainability. This field is offering a wide array of opportunities around the world across various industries including renewable energy, waste management, Green Internet of things (IOT), more supportable agriculture, and green technology.Alongside the opportunities, there are significant challenges that need some attention. These challenges mainly include inadequate infrastructure, funding constraints, policy ambiguities, regulatory complexities and lack of Skills.
India, as one of the world's fastest-growing economies, faces both challenges and opportunities in fostering green employment. These challenges can act as barriers in the growth and adoption of green economy in India.The surge in urbanization and population growth has amplified global challenges, prompting a search for innovative solutions that prioritize environmental responsibility and sustainability.This research paper explores the landscape of green careers in India, shedding light on the key obstacles hindering their growth and the opportunities they offer for sustainable development. The study provides insights into the potential of green careers to address environmental concerns while contributing to economic growth and social well-being, emphasises the challenges which when resolved, could lead to a thriving green job market in India.
